St Raphaels Parish would again sport three drum corps. The all male Buccaneers enlarged hornline would field a new set of 36 Getzen bugles, and new music from the pen of Joe Genero which included "Trumpet Blues" and "A Taste of Honey". Hurricane stick mentor Ray Ludee would come on board as drum instructor. The all girl Marionettes would enter their "Belles" guard in the Metro, enter "Class B" competation in the Yankee Circuit, and take delivery of a new set of uniforms. Bucc's "feeder unit" would stay very busy with parade appearances throughout the area.

Individuals from all the area units were quite busy, entering "indie" shows from Boston To Philly. St Raphaels Buccaneers brass quartet again "medaled" at the "SKEK" iniviatational as stickmen from the Bridgeport PAL Cadets, Royal Lancers and Stamfords Silver Falcons medaled at the Archer-Epler "National Open", and a couple of huge All American Associaton contests in Connecticut

St Raphaels Buccaneers appeared at the Drum Corps News "Evening With the Corps" concert, which had been moved to the Symphony Hall in Newark NJ from it's four year run at Carnagie Hall.
